Sin Miedo al Verde II, acrylic on canvas, 18"x15", 2021
Panamá
Painting 2/3 of the "not afraid of green" series. Encouraged by the first one, which was sold at the Kiwanis auction, I was excited to make the next one more than twice the size.
It's also very important for me that all of my paintings are quite different from one another so I introduced some blue tree trunks this time. The monkey was actually painted in the same colors but since they are such different monkeys I don't think it's perceivable at all.
Painted from a photograph I took in Chiriquí. See it at the bottom of the gallery below. I mirrored the monkey in the interest of composition, which altered the direction of the branches. I could have made an effort to make them a little more accurate but frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
