Tengo más de una década de estar haciéndolas, porque cuando empecé a hacer vidrio estaban los “charms coleccionables” en su apogeo (Pand0ra, Morellat0, etc.) y honestamente para eso las hemos usado yo y todos mis coleccionistas, para pulseras y collares. Siempre se ha “podido” ponerlas en argollas pero por [ninguna] razón yo no lo había hecho ni sugerido, y sí lo había visto, pero no me había interesado. Y ahora estoy fascinada como si hubiera descubierto el agua tibia.
Y lo que más me gusta son todas las posibilidades, porque pueden ser combinadas, pueden ser totalmente diferentes, pueden tener decoración por el “lado” en vez de el “frente”, pueden ser de cualquier tamaño … en fin.

![Four years ago, we were angrily knitting the historic Pussy Hats for the Women’s March.
(Pussy means cat, hence the ears that form when worn, and of course there is a double meaning).
The Women’s March was the largest one-day protest ever, with over 4 000 000 in the USA, and millions more worldwide.
Today… sigh… it feels like it was all for nothing, but it’s also good to remember this happened before important accomplishments such as the #MeToo movement, and others that might not have been possible without empowered women. (I hate that word but it applies here)
These past weeks I have been feeling more negative than ever, perhaps in my adult life, but at least today is a day to celebrate!
I have for many years consciously abstained from US politics, trying to be more aware of what’s local. Keeping us focused on that dumpster fire facilitates the crap happening under the table over here, so it’s important not to look away, but I have started to appreciate that what happens over there severely affects us as well. The situation here is DIRE, and so much so, that the US continues to be considered a safe haven for many... (with all of the shootings and anti-vaxxers I can’t understand) …and like that’s how bad things are here. It’s hard to see through my privilege goggles, but I do see it.
Anyway… I didn’t mean to write such a negative post, but more a stern look back on what we have done (not a lot) and a reminder of the heaps of work left to be done. The Pussy Hat is performative for sure, but we need performance for attention. We need to be seen in order to be heard. We need to rrreeeaad, and be critical thinkers, we need to lead by example, and never be quiet when we have the possibility of being heard. Because some don’t have that luxury. If you are a man, please think of it this way: you should be doing most of the heavy lifting for even the slightest change to occur.

I should probably disguise it as a #GabiIntro post to celebrate all of the new followers I’ve had this month!!! Lots of you are knitters or fiber artists and lots of you are local moms or people who are into education/learning! Welcome! In the photos!!! I’m 99% done with my first adult sweater! [I’m not a knitwear designer so until I explicitly say so, anything I’m knitting is someone else’s design and when relevant I always tag them!] This fabulous design is by the wonderful @RachaelMReese from #SeptemberKnitsDesigns and it’s the #GavriellaSweater (no relation 😅) this pattern will be launched on Friday and I can’t tell you how proud I am to have been part of this test knit and even to have contributed a little.
